The MOON

Overview

The Moon is Earth’s only natural satellite and the fifth largest satellite in the Solar System. Her symbol is a crescent moon (☾). The average distance between the Moon and the Earth is 384,403 km. The diameter of the moon is 3476 kilometres. The moon completes one full orbit in 29.5 days. In one hour, the Moon moves at about 0.5° or one distinguishable diameter. A peculiarity of the inclination of the lunar orbit, unlike most other natural satellites, is that it is closer to that of the ecliptic than to the inclination of the Earth’s equatorial plane. In ancient Greek mythology, the moon was identified with the goddess Selene. The moon is second of importance because it is mainly connected with our physical body and its functions, with the ability to adapt to the environment in which we live in. It is she who governs the entire complex of adaptive functions that are embedded in a person and all that he or her has acquired thanks to these functions. The lunar processes are the life processes that support the existence of the human organism. The moon corresponds to our feelings, emotions, past, mother, the audience of our life. In other words, what we have collected in the past, we now reflect on the Moon. She is also often associated with anxiety, memories, nostalgia, and a sense of security.

Appearance Factors

Softer facial features for a masculine frame, a kind and approachable presence, often with slightly rounded shoulders or midsection, and eyes that reveal sensitivity and empathy.

A feminine, delicate look, often with a round or oval face, smooth movements, and facial expressions that easily reflect emotions.

People with pronounced lunar energy – Cancer Ascendant, Moon on the Ascendant, or chart ruler in the fourth house/in Cancer – tend to have health vulnerabilities connected to the Moon’s sensitivity and changeable nature.

Possible weak points:

  • Digestive system and stomach – prone to gastritis, acid reflux, or stomach cramps, often triggered by stress or emotional states.

  • Fluid retention – swelling in the limbs or puffiness, especially during lunar phases with heightened emotional tension.

  • Lymphatic system – slower drainage, susceptibility to inflammation and infections when the body is weakened.

  • Breasts and reproductive organs – especially in women, sensitivity or hormonal fluctuations linked to the menstrual cycle.

  • Emotionally-driven symptoms – psychosomatic issues such as insomnia, appetite changes, fatigue, or tension following emotional highs and lows.

Key to maintaining health: a stable eating and sleeping routine, minimizing stress, working with emotions (meditation, creative activities, water-based therapy), and avoiding excessive salt or heavy evening meals.
